Limit Hold'em Quiz #12You are playing 20-40 limit hold'em....Two players call and you are in the little blind holding 66...You call...the BB checks.....The flop comes 2-2-3 with two spades.....You lead out and the UTG caller calls you...All others fold.. The turn is an offsuit Ten.....You bet again and get called.....The river comes another offsuit Ten.....What do you consider/do?
Answer Like most poker questions where the answer is close the answer is a function of your opponent Do you think your opponent will call with Ace-High and what is the propensity of him to have that handIn reading the hand, one should ask the question if he would raise with a wired pair.....If so, we can eliminate that from his potential holdings. He could possibly have a ten and would likely raise with that hand on the river....Is he capable of a raise-bluff that you would have to pay off if you bet. Is he the sort to slowplay a big hand to the river. If he will call with Ace-High, would raise with a wired pair and not be the slowplaying sort his propensity to have Ace-High and you to win a bet is reasonably good That said, If he is the type of player that loves to bluff and could have as little as two overcards without an Ace or would bet an Ace, check-calling would be a better play as you would gain a bet when he bluffs with a hand he could not call with and save a bet when you would not have to pay off a raise from a hand that beats you.. I know I have not definitively answered the question....But I hope that the answer I gave gives you an idea of things to think about in the play of your hands......Correct poker decisions are based on what your opponent(s) will do!
